Thanks for reporting! This issue is not under the jurisdiction of Vallejo Public Works, and should be addressed by Caltrans. You can submit a Maintenance Service Request to Caltrans district 4 on their website at http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist4/d4address.htm. Thanks again for using SeeClickFix!

I tripped and fell at the same spot yesterday (9/3/2015) and am bloodied and bruised in half dozen places today (but luckily no broken bones). Merely notifying Caltrans has obviously done no good. If it is your job to protect Vallejo citizens, then you need to do more!!!!

I had already contacted Caltrans before posting here. It took some back and forth but here was the final response from them:

"Attached is a copy of the Maintenance Agreement Caltrans has with the City of Vallejo. Highlighted in yellow is the section that says Vallejo is responsible for maintaining the sidewalks."

The agreement was dated November 22, 1985 and says specifically, in regards to that stretch of Sonoma Blvd. that the "City will maintain curb and sidewalk as needed, according to State/City joint inspectors. Any repairs made will be confirmed by Area Supervisor before payment [from state to city] is made."

This can be found in section H, page 4.

It is high time that the city and state work out there jurisdictional issues. In the meantime, some temporary fix should be put into place immediately......... to avoid a potential law suit if nothing else.

Well, I checked back on Thursday, October 24 and the work was done!
