multiple road excavations that were hap-hazardously repaired from curb past the white line into the road are uneven and bumpy (a severe hazard fro bike riders in particular) one patch on the entire size of 1ft by 4 ft is sinking and now about 4" below road surface

The city is closed for the holidays, except for emergency services. I don't think anyone monitors this site.
I suggest using the MySantaClara app to report this issue, with a photo. The water department often makes these temporary patches after they dig, and it can take months before the street department makes a permanent repair.

Why are they not figuring what is causing the sinking in the first place and address that before wasting money on hush hush patchwork?!
Govt just cannot be trusted with our hard earned money to provide for quality and lasting infrastructure. Not to mention that another similar but much longer patch was sinking (when I reported the first time) just a few yrds away and did not get addressed the 1`st go around. Then more of the shoddy patch work.
