Again an example of the excessive speeding on Mini Dr. At 11;00 am on a friday my neighbors car was hit which pushed his other car into my driveway. Both vehicles are totaled. I have missed being hit several times trying to back out of my driveway. Its a dangerous situation and needs to be addressed.

The Traffic Calming program was just funded again after a 9 year absence. Staff is working on updating the program to current standards. We anticipate the program starting again in early 2021, a list of streets has been kept for that last few years and will be used to create the first streets to start the program up. Mini Dr has been added to the list.

Can I have an update on this subject

The final update document has been submitted to the City and we are preparing to restart the program. Due to the anticipated high demand for the program, we will be asking for petitions to be submitted to create the list of streets that want traffic calming. Contact will be made to representatives starting in April (estimated).

And do I need to encourage neighbors to petition as well

The petition we send out will ask for at least 10 signatures from residents to show there is interest versus just one person.

One petition per street will be enough to qualify.

The city will be sending out the petition/form to those who have contacted us, so you won't need to put it together.

I have to revised the forms as I get feedback from my managers. So we anticipate starting the contacts in the next few weeks. We have over 300 requests over the past few years, so there are alot of mailouts we need to prepare.

Hi David, I’m sending a page of signatures of our neighbors in support of speed reducing measures. I will continue to collect signatures if this is not sufficient
All the neighbors I talked to are very concerned with the safety of the street and many have lost vehicles due to side swiping and collisions over the years
I sincerely hope our street is chosen. I’m sure there are many others that need it as well but I do feel if you do a speed study you will see the constant daily danger

We have a pilot project to use speed cushions (like speed humps, but Fire trucks can pass through without having to slow down) that will conclude in August. Staff will begin contacting residents who have requested traffic calming at that point. So in about a month the program will start again.
