Sully, don't be such a stiff. I have driven on this road hundreds of times and observed and studied the area mentioned above. The speed limit should remain constant, and the guy probably meant 40 MPH in Matawan, not Downtown, because its 25 there. On this part of 79, the speed limit drops from 50 to an unnecessary 40 for less than 1/4 mile, and it is not that dense of a neighborhood. Passing through, the speed suddenly goes up to 45 through some commercial development, then down to 40 again. It should drop to 45 and remain 45 until it reaches the current posted 40 MPH zone in Matawan, (not downtown). Then, downtown remains 25. Case closed.
