I would like to say the issue behind my home is more than a homeless encampment.. as I stated in my original complaint. The garbage and debris are a fire hazard and the human waste is definitely a public health concern.

There have been several request over last year. I reported one. I called and the issue in this area seems to have been referred within the city departments to police. But police are limited in what they can do. Ive texted one council member and I have not received response. I will try another.. I suggest you also sent council member a text..

The National City Police Department strives to provide the best service possible. The NCPD Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) is currently working with National City's public works to schedule a cleanup on the property. The HOT team will continue to make extra patrols in the area and address the issue.

On the top right corner of this notice, its says "closed".. as of 7/18 the 5 tent encampment and bank of trash is still therd.

Mr. Nieto since I sent the above photo more homeless people have moved into the into the area. I can see from my window the fires they make for warmth or to cook. I received an email on Friday and although it says closed the encampment is still there. I don’t know why they said that it’s closed

I would you call the non emergency police number and speak to the Homeless Team representative. I did yesterday and left a message. I have not received a call back. My understanding is that there is some sort of legislation that requires that homeless folks notice and support. Im not sure what the time frame is and when is it starting. The police are involve for security protocol.. its ashame that their valuable resource have to be directed to cleaning up piles of trash.. whats interesting is that that that public works, code compliance officer, and homeless community advocate are involve. Im a little disappointed with the city for not being forthright in providing timely information in view that the concern has been posted many months ago. But, I understand there is only compliance officer for the whole city.. its interesting how the current city council choose their priority. I have not received any response to my voice message from the 1 council member and the mayor. I would suggest more people post messages, call the Hot folk, and city council until we see a plan with timelines.. This is not harass the overworked city folk.. im sure they are doing the best with the allocated resources they have.. But, I would suggest you bring up improvement in the process next time politicians ask you to vote for them.
