This was an accident last week at this intersection. Multiple requests have been made for some sort of traffic safety measures at this problematic intersection. Although these requests are “acknowledged” there is no action or response about if or when a traffic signal can be installed.
There are numerous times a week where I witness “near miss” auto vs pedestrian accidents at this intersection. Additionally cars are constantly speeding in both directions causing problems for both pedestrians crossing MacArthur and cars trying to turn onto MacArthur from side streets. This intersection badly needs a traffic signal both for pedestrian safety and better traffic control

Trader Joe’s essentially utilizes the sidewalk as a loading dock. The sidewalk is constantly being blocked making it inaccessible for pedestrians, especially those with strollers. This is also an ADA issue as wheelchairs are unable to pass. Additionally, this continual activity blocks the bus stop with trucks and pallets, pallet jacks, crates and other inventory. This is not “temporary” unloading as pallets and debris often sit for numerous days blocking the sidewalk. Lastly, trucks often park diagonally to occupy two lanes, forcing traffic to unsafely merge into the lanes where freeway traffic Is exiting at high speed.
