314 Broadway Oakland, California - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
Homeless man is taking up 80% of the side walk with his shopping carts. Every day that I walk by the shopping carts grow outwards from the wall to the point we’re he is almost taking up the entire sidewalk now. I would estimate he has between 12-15 shopping carts on the side walk. It is right next to 314 Broadway st next door to dominos pizza.
  • 430 Broadway Oakland 94607, United States - Old City-Produce And Waterfront

Two illegal encampments & corresponding garbage are on Broadway, between 5th & 6th.
They need to be removed & should not be able to return.

City should be spending money to keep sidewalks clear & clean, instead of the following:
    1. funding horses for OPD. Really?
    2. misplacing $2.2 million dollars. City employee employees responsible for this need to be fired.
    3. retaining elected officials who create millions of dollars in liability for Oakland.

  • 420 Broadway Oakland, California - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
Homeless encampment along the ramp into the Webster tube from Broadway. The encampment is inside the fenced area that was installed to keep the homeless out. The homeless have gained access by breaking down a security door that leads through the concrete foundation structure of highway 880. There are more and more tents and homeless people moving into this area every week and it is growing rapidly. They are throwing trash over the fence and onto the roadway ramp leading into the tube. It looks like they may be destroying the highway foundation trying to loot and scrap the metal materials inside the foundation structure since there are piles of metal around the encampment and they obviously have tools strong enough to break down a metal security door.

568–598 Oak St Oakland 94607, United States - Produce And Waterfront
Illegal camping continues on Oak St, between 5th & 6th. On the north side sidewalk, there are 2 folks in sleeping bags. On the south side, there is a blue tent blocking the sidewalk.
The new community cabins are right there. I thought when these community cabins go up, no illegal encampments are allowed in the area. Crickey, this mess is in same block as the community cabins. Neighborhood has not improved since these cabins went in. Illegal encampments still persist - 1. On Oak St, on Jackson St (between 5th & 6th under 880), 6th St/Jackson next to freeway. & go check out the mess at Broadway between 5th & 6th.
& in the neighborhood, we now have: 1. Crazy guy who walks down the sidewalk yelling at everything 2. Guy who likes to pee in the middle of road 3. Gentleman who picks up stuff from sidewalk & puts in mouth 4. Dude who rides bike down 4th St & throws bottles on road (can catch his action when sun goes down) 5. Caterpillar man - always in sleeping bag flopped out sidewalk (easily identified by shopping cart & same pile of garbage he surrounds himself in.

131 Broadway Oakland 94607, United States - Old City-Produce And Waterfront

The sidewalk on the north side of 2nd St, west of Broadway, has been fenced off and blocked due to a development project on the corner.

It looks like the construction is stalled and there hasn’t been any activity for many months, so can this fence either be removed, or can an on-street pedestrian walkway be constructed around it? Keeping it blocked when nothing is happening with construction is very pedestrian unfriendly.

  • I-880 S Oakland, CA, 94607, USA - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
Homeless people live under the freeway on both sides of Broadway(between 5th & 6th St). Huge amount of garbage bags pile up. If City allows those homeless people to live there, why the City not cleans up those garbage regularly. I dare not look inside. It's not healthy and dangerous to take photos.

  • 5th St & Broadway Oakland, CA, 94607, USA - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
Under the 880 overpass on Broadway between 5th and 6th is absolutely disgusting!! The sidewalk is 85% blocked with garbage and my friend in a wheel chair and barely get past the mess! This needs to be a priority! The ground is covered in used uncapped needles as well as human feces amongst all the garbage! Please do something to clean this up and keep the area along Broadway clean! This is the gateway to the entire city! Let’s at least have our Main Street clear of debris and free bio hazards. Thank you
  • 419 4th St Oakland 94607, United States - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
On 4th St at Broadway, an illegal encampment is blocking the sidewalk. Just look for the shopping carts arranged like circled wagons on the prairie, waiting for impending attack.

Webster St Tube Oakland CA 94607, United States - Chinatown

There is an offramp that goes from the 80 onto Broadway, there is an opening into the underneath of this offramp that homeless have been getting into over and over.. Trash all over the place from them taking clothing for free from the Salvation Army right there, setting tires and other trash on fire inside of that area.

A door was fashioned out of concrete and steel, before that, it was cinder blocks and rebar. Any and all things created to block that hole have been broken by the homeless, they keep getting in. You guys have to literally enforce it you can't just plug it up, you need blow torches and welding to weld it in place, or you need to dig under and pour concrete, or you need to create a troff inside of the opening and around toward the sides and literally fill it with the concrete and rebar, knowing they will probably use crowbars and sledge hammers again to break it all away yet again.

Listen, these people won't go away unless you house them.

Also, please cover the fences with tarp it's disgusting to look at driving into Alameda

If you allow these people to get into that area they're in danger.
