while attending a community clean up event the signs were discovered discarded in the 2900 block alley way of North Avenue...just a couple hundred feet from where they were removed by reported shop owners.
New Barber shop located at this address. Signs appear to have been removed to eliminate the no parking restriction in front of their business. Charges should be sought after by the police department.
Actually, the sign that was found has the no parking arrow pointing to the left instead of the right. It must have been removed from another pole. The city needs to go survey Brookland Park Boulevard and see where this sign was taken and if others have been removed.

two weeks later and the signs have not been replaced. In the meantime the owners of the barbershop are now parking in the 'no parking' zone with the tale ends of their cars impeding turning traffic. What's the hold up? This is straight up lawlessness!!!!!!!
I drive by the BPB business corridor each and everyday and cannot help but notice the signs disappearing...who exactly is running this area? The thugs or the RPD?
So we're letting citizens/businesses determine where folks can park in the neighborhood now?? This is unacceptable and shameful!! What are our neighborhoods and precincts turning into?
To date nothing has been done to resolve this serious issue. Today I sent an email to the MPACT Coordinator, Councilman Hilbert, Councilwoman Robertson and Mrs. Lisa Townes. Next step is to contact the local news stations to expose the continued neglect/safety issues of the Northside and the City's thwarted attempts to hinder our right to safe travel and law enforcement on our neighborhood roadways.
Did get a response from the City Office..we will be conducting a 'walking tour' of the BPB corridor to try and estimate how many signs are missing. Puzzling to me is that the city has no idea how many signs have been installed...really?
Supposedly the city's sign department is waiting on us to do a walk through..good grief. At the very least address the one's we have verified to be missing..@#$% poor excuse ~ again!
Two gentlemen from the DPW sign/pavement marking shop arrived on time January 11, 2016 and we did a survey of the business corridor. On Friday January 15,2016 every single sign was replaced, new ones installed and damaged poles were straightened out. AWESOME, AWESOME work.!!!! Big kudos to Mr. Wynn and Mr. Alford!!!
Walking tour with DPU officials. Cited all signs which were missing along the business corridor. DPU has since replaced signs along the entire BPB business corridor.
