Update: Crews have inspected the leak in question and have determined that the backflow in question is not leaking, it is reacting to the back pressure from the building. When it dumps a small amount of water it is letting City staff know that something in the building has higher pressure than City pressure. Staff believe from the past it's coming from one of the labs. When they're doing something with the water system in the lab, the pressure is boosted and causes the backflow to spit a little water. The backflow is not broken, it is designed to do that. If you have any questions, please contact the Distribution Maintenance staff at 648-4520.
