This is urgent. This area next to the TJ market is not only a ridiculous eye sore, it's dangerous. A car storage junkyard(,that shouldn't be there in the first place due it already being a "public nuisance", now piling out into the edge of the street.
  • 835 Wilson Ave Vallejo, CA 94590, USA - Vallejo
Homeless stay there and now two boats are there all the time. Something fishy is going on at this place and it has nothing to do with the bait shop.
  • 98 Palm Dr Vallejo, CA 94589, USA - US Congressional District CA7
I couldn't get a photo. Will try later or maybe someone else could post a photo. when I contact caltrans they say this is city property and city says it's cal trans. Who is responsible for these lookouts on White Slough?

This building has been in serious neglect for sooo long. The backside now has a huge hole where someone broke into the building. The damage has been there for a while. The owners must take better care. Not fair to the surrounding businesses not to mention the obvious dangers and blight
  • 2444 Sacramento St Vallejo, CA 94590, USA - Vallejo
Seriously out of hand. Can someone in the city please care about what's going on here and take action. 9th circuit ruling doesn't allow for the vehicles and trash and filth. Cal trans said this is the city property public workd so don't yo yo us around, please
  • 1011 Mare Island Causeway Vallejo, CA 94590, USA - Vallejo
Cars and trash not part of the 9th circuit ruling. don't let this turn back to what it was before GVRD did some clean up. This isnt a one time thing. you have to keep on it and prevent the decline. I bet this wouldn't happen in a nice Glen Cove GRVD park.
  • 100 Harrier Ave Vallejo, CA 94590, USA - Vallejo
stripped truck and junk. That area seems to be a dumping ground. it's down in the valley behind the houses on Harriet St. Don't know what property it belongs to. Cemetery or ?
  • 728 Marine World Pkwy Vallejo, CA 94589, USA - Vallejo
isn't this a fire/access road. This should not be blocked for an encampment.
  • 1011 Mare Island Causeway Vallejo, CA 94590, USA - Vallejo

Everyone - looks like if you want to complain about anything in riverpark you must contact GRVD. (and guess what....they don't check seeclicksfix according to the COV responses. So here we go peoples....let's contact GRVD then.

    call
    707-648-4600 and/ or email info@gvrd.org

here is the link to the board members
    https://www.gvrd.org/board-members

link to the GVRD board meetings and agenda
    https://www.gvrd.org/board-meetings-committees

They will tell you their hands are tied, but the 9th circuit ruling does not allow them to just throw their hands up. While being homeless can't be criminalized, of course, but the ruling also doesn't allow a crazy town dangerous free for all. They do not have to cede this property to encampments nor allow huge structures and cars and fires and any illegal activities. The community is getting fed up.

So contact the GVRD and or send them the pics, the issues, everything you would put on seeclicksfix, then let them know this is unacceptable. They too have to keep pressuring COV and VPD, the county to do something about it.

This is caltrans property. So fill out the link regarding the issue to report to them. we all have to do this to get them to do something.

Outlooks. This is not the place. SF Bay Trail and EPA really need to get on whoever is responsible for these outlooks. This is completely out of hand. White Slough is turning into white sludge. The 9th circuit ruling actually does not allow a free for all. The city needs to hurry up and agendize solutions to stop people from settling in these waterfront and water way locations that spill into the rest of the bay as well.

Get other lots for people needing a place to put their tent or RV while permanent housing is getting figured out. This is getting so out of hand! The cost of what this currently doing to the city is much greater than what the city and county will spend to have dedicated lots.

Okay...c'mon!! Now people can build structures even??? Are you kidding me?

No they can't. This is absolute insanity. The 9th circuit ruling does not allow this, and not only that, it doesn't allow people to even be in River Park at all for that matter, nor just anywhere they choose.

Recent comments in the latest hearing included:

The ruling, they wrote, “holds only that governments cannot criminalize the act of sleeping with the use of rudimentary protections, such as bedding, from the elements in some public places when a person has nowhere else to sleep.”

The ruling “does not establish an unrestrained right for involuntarily homeless persons to sleep anywhere they choose,” Silver and Gould wrote. “Nor does it require jurisdictions to cede all public spaces to involuntarily homeless persons.”

    Source: https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-07-06/in-scathing-dissents-9th-circuit-conservatives-say-homelessness-is-paralyzing-u-s-west

So to reiterate: IT DOES NOT REQUIRE JURISDICTIONS TO CEDE ALL PUBLIC SPACES TO INVOLUNTARY HOMELESS PERSONS.

Which means, that yes, they will be forced to relocate somewhere else that they'll have to figure out. How about to city hall?! But if you let people destroy the last of our water ways, Marina and the only gems we have left here, then most people will give up and leave. Say goodbye to any hope we have left to turn this place around. The amount of homeless here is manageable So prioritize this ASAP as an emergency. This is absolutely insane that this is allowed to go on... in this location especially. Wooden structures, cars being worked on all the while dry grass is getting taller, dryer and safety hazards, bio hazards grow. Residents are getting threatened and feel safe anymore.

People are becoming less empathetic and less tolerant and this isn't going to turn out well if the city doesn't move people out of that location asap.

I encourage anyone who feels the same way to make some noise, keep on it! write call and don't stop!

  • 98 Palm Dr Vallejo, CA 94589, USA - US Congressional District CA7
This beautiful location is a dumping ground and outdoor chop shop. Time to put cameras there.
  • 1011 Mare Island Causeway Vallejo, CA 94590, USA - Vallejo
No wheels, broken down inoperable truck.
  • 98 Palm Dr Vallejo, CA 94589, USA - Vallejo
3rd lookout over slough. There are two new broken down cars in the same area that you just finally cleaned up (with white truck etc). so frustrating!
you need to create a permanent barrier to stop this chop shop crap. it makes Vallejo look like ****.
No one is going to want to do business here, or live here. please take care of our city and community.
