Description
This is the traffic light at the intersection of Chamblee Dunwoody Road – Shallowford Road – Peeler Road. In particular as you are traveling north on Chamblee Dunwoody Road, the light at this intersection will show a green arrow when there isn’t any traffic at all or any traffic in the left turn lane. This is occurring around 5:45 – 6am. What happens is that traffic in the opposite direction has to wait longer to get a green light and the cross traffic (going north and south at this intersection) has to wait longer before they eventually get a green light.
This has been happening over the last few weeks if not longer. The fix is to do away with the green arrow unless there is a vehicle turning left thereby reducing the wait time for the traffic coming from the other directions.

We have reduced the maximum amount of time that this phase will hold due to the broken detection. There is too much vehicle demand to turn the phase off and there is a minimum appropriate amount of time that must be given to serve traffic volumes. We are making the changes we can to reduce total delay until repairs can be completed.
