Description
I'd like to see this traffic light at the intersection of 20th Ave. and Lincoln removed. It's so close to 19th ave. that it provides virtually no added benefit in terms of traffic calming; yet combined in close proximity with the 19th ave. light it creates _huge_ bottlenecks for eastbound traffic. You can literally wait 5 minutes just to get through these two lights on a crowded day.
One light here is enough. Two is too many.
Thanks.

This response amounts to denial. Denial is not a solution. Should there be a traffic light at every block on Lincoln? I'm sure you would agree that there should not be. There is no good reason for the bottleneck caused by two lights in the space of a single block. The stoppage in traffic from the 19th Ave. light already provides opportunity to enter and exit 20th Ave. safely.
The small number of drivers to and from 20th (can it be more than 2 dozen in total?) simply need to be more assertive of their rights to enter and exit, rather than sacrificing hundreds of person-hours per week with this needless bottleneck.
Please do not reply again with simple denial. Thank you.

The lengthy light at 19th ave. provides plenty of time and access for 20th ave. traffic. There's no need for a second traffic light so close to the first.
Anyone who has ever driven eastbound on Lincoln from west of 20th on a sunny weekend day can remember the inordinate wait from having to clear 2 lights in the space of a single block. It simply doesn't work.

Anyone who has ever driven eastbound on Lincoln from west of 20th on a sunny weekend day has learned to take Judah or Lawton.
Seriously though, in addition to giving Muni a right of way through that congested intersection, providing the first opportunity for drivers to go west (via Lincoln, 20th Ave, and Irving), it also provides a safe crossing for pedestrians and cyclists entering the park as it's a major north-south bike route providing north south access through the park. Removing this signal would significantly impact all users of that intersection.
