Reporting AGAIN. I have been calling and writing them directly. Our Cabana Isle HOA residents were forced to join the LMD and we pay for this via our Property Tax assessments. In return, what was reasonably well kept and attractive is turning into an unkempt, overgrown mess. Across from 762 the irrigation hasn't worked for months. [Yes, it's been reported] The plants are dying. The trees & bushes are overgrown,with weeds everywhere.

Now out towards the wetlands- still HOA-City LMD responsibility- are more and more the embarrasingly overgrown bushes , and a variety of things that have been ignored so long they are larger than the original bushes that sprouted them.

I get suggestions to call them- but I have and there is NO response. To properly maintain thjis area used to require at least twice a week regular upkeep. Again- it's been months with virtually nothing. I did note they planted in 3 small areas out here but nothing else has been done.

I am also a Front Porch Realty Group real estate referral agent. The goal is to promote Vallejo as the last Bay Area affordable real estate market. I want to attract home buyers to our city. Our city leaders, and residents need to think about how we can revitalize our town to an attractive town. Vallejo has great benefits. However, improving our city will not happen if our city government (city council, police department, etc.) and residents do not care for our neighborhoods and downtown.

Sure the city wonders why they cannot attract visitors to this city. Its a DUMP, Vallejo is a city you want to get through as quickly as possible, it is not a destination. This city is disgusting/

On the duplicte the city reports that they will do NOTHING. It's over 30 feet from the nearest dwelling and therefore is not a fire hazard. Their lack of upkeep is our tough luck. UGH

I totally agree with my neighbors about the continuing neglect and resulting blight of the Sandpiper Point LMD. I have lived here since 1985 and remember the beautiful and well kept landscape around the Meadows Drive open space, Catalina Circle and part of Mini Drive, all under the Sandpiper Point LMD. Over the years, I have requested, via letters, that the City inform the community about the annual LMD assessment report including making available a copy of the LMD annual report to the community. It contains valuable information. The area is no longer beautiful as it once was and the community deserves more. What will it take?

Do we need to petition the city or the Mayor! ?? The issue is unrelenting. I worked with Sean in 2018 to have new plantings put in and address the overgrowth. This year is definitely the worst I've seen it.
Having returned from vacationing in Maine and Massachusetts I was so disappointed to see how much garbage and over growth there is all over Vallejo. Can the HOA's gain control back? surely something can be done if enough people care?

I think it is time for us (Cabana Isle and Sandpiper Point) community members to rally and petition the City and the Mayor about the neglect and lack of upkeep of the entire Sandpiper Point LMD. At a minimum, we should continue to report and document our disappointment via ClickFix until something is adequately done by the City.

First, I need to respond to our neighbor who commented that he noticed that they were plantings in 3 small areas. Well, the plantings weren't performed by the City. It was one our community's neighbor that placed new plantings in those small areas. He was hoping to beautify the area with new plantings. Of course, new plantings have difficulty taking hold and surviving without water. So, most of the plantings are not surviving. Petition? Oh yes! Photos of the LMD blight is going to be posted here. And I encourage others to do the same using this ClickFix portal. Next step, NextDoor followed by letters to City and Mayor. If that doesn't work, we should rally and voice our dismay during a city council meeting.

As you arrange to speak with the residents that are members of the Cabana Isle HOA, keep in mind that there are those of us who live within the Sandpiper Point Community and are not under the HOA. So, to get a full and better understanding of our collective concerns, you will need to setup a more inclusive meeting. The Sandpiper Point LMD was formed in 1981 and serves a residential neighborhood of more than 385 parcels, all of us, Sandpiper Point and Cabana Isle residents. Also, In July 2019 I wrote at letter to the City about the reduced maintenance and postponed improvements surrounding the Sandpiper LMD and your name was included in the letter. I did not send another in 2020 due to the pandemic crisis. However, expect to receive an updated letter from me very soon.

Last week a 2 person crew came out- twice, and did a lot of trimming. It's not perfect but it's far better than it's looked the last few years. . I also notice a neighbor from down the street went out and did additional trimming himself. I plan to do some myself now and pick up the trash that's been exposed by all the trimming. Hopefully we may start seeing some regular upkeep so it won't get so out of control again. Thank you.
