We keep on reporting, a "verified official" will keep closing these issues. They will say it's up to GVRD. When you contact them, they say they need VPD to assist. The City blames the State. The State refers to federal decision in Boise. It's insane...we are watching our beloved waterfront turn into a dumping ground and no one who can help is willing to do anything!!!!

Vallejo Deserves Better!

Btw this is my camp I choose not to be around the rest of the crowd close to the railroad tracks because of all of that mess and what's going on over there. Now I'd rather not be in this park anyways there is a risk of me and my girlfriend being bitten by huge @#$% spiders and it's extremely hot as well if Vallejo and you guys constantly complains about this would get out your comfort of your own cool place were you can relax and come down to my tent believe me I'm not a bad person at all 8f you still think so well then that's on you but I promise you I might have my issues but I'm also willing and able to do something to get myself away from this place. For ever it is that is quick to judge me before getting to know me I dare you to come down and meet me and say hello believe me I don't bite and neither does my girlfriend we just ask for something cold to drink though it's super hot out here

It's getting really bad. Their dogs are hunting/killing the rabbits and birds and defecating EVERYWHERE. They are defecating everywhere. We have important events coming up and a slum is right at the entrance to Mare Island. Please do something.

Wow! Now concerned citizens can not voice their opinions on SCF. What's the point of having this platform to report issues if SCF is going to block content and not help get issues resolved.

There is no dogs killing anything in this park you people really need to stop lying to the city we are not out of control it is a very peaceful camp by the train tracks yes my dogs run around out side but they won’t hurt you they Bart a lot but that’s it so don’t lie to get something done if you guy would only stop passing judge-meant on us Vallejo mite not be a bad place to live but for real we are not bad people and we keep to see selfs we cause not trouble we don’t steal so way do people keep passing judge meant on us if you don’t even no us yes we are living out of a tent and not a house but we are still the same as you people we love like you love we bleed just like you bleed we are sad the same way you get sad we have feeling to just like you so stop messing with us and leave us alot the way we do you guys

The dogs are leaving feces all over the area. The campers are creating bigger and bigger trash piles in our park. They are driving on the wetland and have now parked an RV on it.

Where do they use the bathroom? It's starting to stink down there.
Why are their dogs allowed off leash? They are harassing park goers. I have seen their dogs running around chasing rabbits in the protected habitat area, and at least two of them are camping in the protected habitat as well.

If they would like better consideration or reception, they could start by cleaning up their area and leashing/cleaning up after their dogs! The area is starting to look like White Slough!

We can't leave this, and ya all alone as we need to push the city to do something...or you're gonna live there until ..when? And it will just get more crowded and even more miserable for you and everyone as trash, and broken down cars and dumping continue. You moved from the tracks, but this area has been growing and this will turn into the place you left. Fire hazards, crazyness and more. We can't fix the problem unless we report here, so make noise at council meetings to the city etc .
If the would just get even short term places places for homeless, like the fairgrounds or a lot like they did with Camp Hope in Martinez, while the longer term solutions are being worked out.

That way resources could be given in one place, a community of unhoused could still be together while permanent options are being worked on. But the situation there will NOT get better on its own, so no...this community won't be leaving this situation be.

We'll see if anything gets done...Time is ticking and nothing is happening to correct this. Vallejo is a fine city it's the so-called people that are trashing this place this could be a beautiful city. Minus the trashy folks.

We have to keep writing and talking to the city "leaders" and the managers of the park district. It is such a shame there are so many reports on SCF and nothing happens.

This issue is getting worse every day. Now a portion of Wilson Avenue is closed 10/30 due to (another) fire in River Park encampments. This is causing confusion and dangerous traffic through the surrounding neighborhoods. There are no detour signs. A bus got stuck and blocked the road. How bad does this have to get before COV does anything!!!?

Also contact our representative Charles Palmares, who promised to make a difference when he was running for District 4. Hold him to his promises.

It's a complex and dire situation for everyone involved. The COV has next to no money to help the tent people, nor does it have cops to enforce laws or even pave streets. People who have homes to live in must sign up for garbage service, but if you live in a tent there is no garbage service. So, what can you do? The COV should AT LEAST send a work crew around town to pick up trash that naturally collects where people congregate. But, that's probably a non starter. What would you do with your trash if you had no garbage service, or a pick up truck to haul if off? Every election cycle we vote for new council members who say they will change the world. I have lived here 40 years and have seen next to no improvement coming from the city council.
